Welcome to Lucky's Scrap Metals! We proudly serve both residential and commercial customers with convenient drop-off services for scrap metal. Whether you're cleaning out your garage or managing larger-scale projects, our site is easily accessible for all your scrap metal recycling needs. Drop off your metal waste (ferrous and non-ferrous) with us and know you are recycling responsibly. At Lucky's, we make recycling simple, fast, and rewarding!
Here is our step by step Process:
1. Before you arrive: In preparing to visit our site, remember to check our Non-Acceptable Items list to ensure you don't bring any items that we don't accept.
2. Correct PPE - Footwear: You and your staff members safety is our highest priority when visiting our site. Correct footwear is to be worn at all times when coming on site. Thongs and open toe shows are not allowed on site. Remember to bring gloves to protect your hands when you are unloading on site.
3. Report to the Office: Once at the office, the attendant will direct you to the correct department (Ferrous and Non-Ferrous) on site.
4. Direction to Drop-off Area: You'll then unload your scrap metal in the designated drop-off area. If you're unsure where to place specific materials, our team will be available to assist with sorting and guidance.
Ferrous - After weighing your vehicle/truck on the weighbridge, the attendant will direct you to the appropriate area where you can unload your materials. We have a Ferrous section for tipper trucks and a section for general public to unload. All zones are clearly marked for different types of metals to streamline the process and keep everything organised. Tipper trucks will be directed to a bay area to tip loads. After you have tipped/unloaded, return to the weighbridge to tare out. The weighbridge attendant will finalise your docket at this time. If you do not return to the weighbridge to tare off, we will assume you are a Recyling Guru and happy to leave knowing your items will be recycled as part of the circular economy.
IMPORTANT - It's important we keep areas safe for other customers coming on site, for this reason we ask that you see on attendant if you have nails, screws other other items so they do not end up on the ground. "Safety is everyones responsibility".
Non-Ferrous - All non-ferrous metals will be weighed on our digital scales. All non-ferrous metals are weighed per kilo. When you arrive you will be directed to an allocated space to unload your items. All items must be already processed into their sales grading. No processing or grinding can occur on site. If you wish to take products away to clean them further, you are welcome to do this. A docket will be issued to you at the non-ferrous office confirming the weights, grading and pricing for your items.
5. Inspection and Processing: Once your scrap metal is unloaded, our team will inspect it to ensure it's properly sorted and free of contaminants. We take care to recycle everything responsibly and efficiently. Please remember to take all rubbish with you!
